Founded in 1929, the Fudan University School of Journalism is the oldest journalism and communications education institution in China. The school is divided into four departments: Journalism, Communications, Broadcasting and Advertising. Education in the journalism and communications departments occurs at multiple levels, including undergraduate, graduate，postgraduate and postdoctoral fellow. The Postdoctoral Program in Journalism and Communication Studies is the first of its kind in China. The School of Journalism has three doctoral programs (Journalism, Communications, and Broadcasting), five academic masters programs (Journalism, Communications, Broadcasting, Advertising, and Media Management), and five professional masters programs established since 2011 (Journalism and Communications, Financial Journalism, New Media Communications, International Journalism, and Global Media and Communications International Dual Degree).
The School has played a leading role in Journalism Theory, Communications Theory, Communications Empirical Research, Urban Communication and Visual Culture in China. Journalism and Communications became National Class A and key disciplines in 2007. The school’s current research platforms and national experimental teaching demonstration centers include: the Key Research Institute for Humanities and Social Sciences affiliated with the Ministry of Education; Key Research Base for National Higher Education Textbook Development in Journalism affiliated with the Ministry of Education; Fudan University National Center for Culture Innovation Research affiliated with the Ministry of Culture; Teaching and Research Institute for Marxist Views of Journalism; Global New Media Research Institute; and the Fudan University Media and Public Opinion Research Center.
The school has established partnerships with world-class institutions in more than 40 countries and regions globally in talent training and research collaboration.

Academic position: Professor or Junior Research Fellow, Associate Professor or Junior Associate Research Fellow, Lecturer (2-3 positions)
1. Desired skills/background:
Journalism and communications practice (journalism practice, communications practice);

1) The applicant should have strong moral principles and impeccable academic integrity. No record of unethical conduct or academic dishonesty.
2) Professor and Junior Research Fellow candidates should hold professorship/associate professorship or equivalent title at a prestigious university or research institution at home or abroad. Candidates with rich practical experience and outstanding performance in related fields can also be considered. All candidates should have published a considerable number of high-quality papers in world-class journals or have outstanding performance in related fields, and be able to propose and lead major scientific research projects. They should also be capable of undertaking teaching-related tasks and have strong teaching ability.
Associate Professor and Junior Associate Research Fellow candidates should hold associate professorship (or assistant professor/post doctorate/PhD if the applicant is particularly outstanding) or equivalent titles at a prestigious university or research institution at home or abroad. They should have published a considerable number of high-quality papers in world-class journals. They should have strong development potential and be able to propose and lead major research projects.They should also be capable of undertaking teaching-related tasks and have strong teaching ability.
Lecturer candidates should hold a PhD from a prestigious university at home or abroad and background should include suitable academic training. They should be active in their academic area and be able to achieve research results in related areas, as well as have strong potential for development.
3) Professor and Junior Research Fellow candidates shall be under 45 years of age; Associate Professor and Associate Junior Research Fellow candidates shall be under 40 years of age; Lecturers shall be under 35 years of age. Age requirements can be flexible for outstanding candidates. Successful candidates who come from overseas are required to undertake teaching tasks in English programs and talent training.
